General Summary:
DePaul University launches its quarterly search for a Staffing Intern for its Loop Campus. This internship requires a commitment of 20-25 hour per week with a structured schedule. This internship will afford the selected intern an opportunity to develop new skill sets in a phenomenal learning environment with a core focus on Staffing.
The Staffing Intern will be exposed to entry-level staffing activities, project management, procedural documentation, event planning, survey administration, metrics analysis, and ATS management. This internship will require excellent communication skills, keen analysis, detail-orientation, a high level of engagement, and a high degree of consistent professionalism.
The Intern reports directly to the Staffing Manager and provides high-level support to the entire Staffing team.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: • Monitor the flow of applicants and candidates using the Applicant tracking system (ATS).
• Partner with Staffing Coordinator to develop innovative sourcing strategies and post jobs to DePaul’s website, and external websites.
• Identify skill-based testing to prospective applicants.
• Co-chair with Staffing Coordinator to organize and plan on-site and external recruitment events.
• Assist in the development of reporting metrics and data analysis.
• Benchmark organizations and execute a variety of research based projects.
• Co-chair the development of various staffing documents and update staffing procedures.
• Lead the creation of flowcharts in Visio to map Staffing process and procedures.
• Develop spreadsheet reports and other relevant communication pieces for the Staffing function.
• Assist in the development of Staffing literature.
• Administer quarterly web based client Staffing satisfaction surveys to Hiring Managers.
• Conduct 60-90 day interviews with new hires to assess the effectiveness of the Staffing process.
• Monitor/audit the website on a weekly basis to ensure consistency.
• Assist the Staffing Manager with facilitating focus groups, and produce findings.
• Co- chair with Staffing Manager to develop a robust internship program for Staffing function.
• Manage applicant and candidate inquiries to ensure a high level customer service.
• Perform other Staffing related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Undergraduate Senior or Graduate student currently enrolled in a Human Resources program, or a related field of study.
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced/deadline driven environment.
• Must possess the capacity and willingness to function in an ever evolving work environment.
• Must possess a high level of discretion and sensitivity to confidential information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Superior research and internet skills a plus.
• Microsoft Project strongly preferred.
