Taste of Chicago Chicago’s tremendous array of culinary delights are located in one place at the ten-day lakefront festival where food choices range from ethnic to exotic to Chicago specialties. Interactive Taste of Chicago Map Dates: Jun 25, 2010 - Jul 4, 2010 Admission: FREE Admission into the festival grounds. FREE Admission to see the concerts at the Petrillo Music Shell. Food & Beverage Tickets Food and beverages are sold by tickets only. Tickets are sold in strips of 12 for $8 at the festival, which includes a $2 surcharge that contributes to event amenities including clean up, security and recycling. Each vendor has the food prices posted on their booth. More than 200 different food items are available at the event, with no food item costing more than 12 tickets “Taste of” portions (smaller offerings of one of the restaurants menu items) are available for 2-4 tickets. Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted at the ticket booths. Positive I.D. is required when making a credit card purchase. Broadway In Chicago, in partnership with the City of Chicago, is pleased to present the annual BROADWAY IN CHICAGO CONCERT AT TASTE OF CHICAGO , a fantastic, FREE event on Monday, June 28 at 6:00 p.m. at the Petrillo Music Shell in Grant Park (235 S. Columbus Drive). The BROADWAY IN CHICAGO CONCERT AT TASTE , features some of Broadway’s hottest shows during the city’s legendary Taste of Chicago festival and continues the celebration of Broadway In Chicago’s 10 Year Anniversary. This year’s concert includes an extraordinary lineup of special performances by the Chicago casts of Billy Elliot the Musical and Million Dollar Quartet , as well as previews of the upcoming Shrek the Musical, Rock of Ages, TRACES and HAIR. Disney’s The Lion King and Wicked , both returning to Chicago later this year, will also perform selections at the concert. Audiences will also catch an exclusive first look at Not Wanted On The Voyage , the American Music Theatre Project’s newest undertaking, performing this summer at Northwestern University.

The popular free series, Downtown Sound: New Music Mondays, returns to Millennium Park for a second summer, featuring an eclectic mix of music discoveries, cutting-edge indie rock, pop bands and rock veterans. Presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Millennium Park, the series expands this year to ten double-bill concerts, beginning Monday, May 24 and closing July 26, 2010. The free concert series highlights international groups such as Huntsville, Tony Allen and Bomba Estéreo, as well as local favorites including Hum, Hollows, Kid Sister, Via Tania and On Fillmore featuring Nels Cline. “PETTERINO’S MONDAY NIGHT LIVE” OPEN MIC CABARET SHOWCASE RETURNS FOR THIRD SEASON CHICAGO (September 2009) — It is back by popular demand for a third season! The highly-acclaimed “Petterino’s Monday Night Live,” presented every Monday evening at Petterino’s, (151 N. Dearborn St.), located in the heart of the theater district, is co-hosted by Chicago’s very own entertainment guru, Denise McGowan and cabaret artist and musician extraordinaire, Beckie Menzie. This showcase provides a relaxed yet sophisticated environment for established and emerging singers to share their talent and a nightspot for Chicagoans and tourists to experience true cabaret at its finest. Since opening night on September 17, 2007, every week is different and full of its’ own surprises! Guest singers have included such incredible notables as Nan Mason, Sue Conway, Joyce Faison, Ron Hawking, Bernie Allen, Robert Whorton, Jimmy Damon, Denise Tomasello, Tom Michael, Joan Curto, the late John Callaway, Nancy Wood, Frieda Lee, Carla Gordon, Elizabeth Doyle, Tom Michael, Cheri Coons, Robert Sims and Dick Judson. Also joining the ranks of MNL veterans have been principal cast members from Chicago’s production of Jersey Boys and the national touring companies of Mary Poppins, A Chorus Line, Dirty Dancing, Grease, Sweeney Todd, My Fair Lady, Phantom of the Opera and more. Denise McGowan has been recognized as a Chicago impresario for over 25 years; and Beckie Menzie, whose interpretive and inventive piano stylings rank her among the best nightclub entertainers in the country, accompanies all acts. Guests can enjoy the performance while sipping cocktails and enjoying the classic American cuisine created by Petterino’s Executive Chef Francis Brennan. A lighter menu of appetizers, sandwiches and salads is offered, as well as the full menu. A big hit is the special three-course ‘Seven After Seven” menu, featuring a choice of seven appetizers, seven entrees and seven desserts for $19.95! “Petterino’s Monday Night Live” begins at 7:30 p.m. with an “open mic” format punctuated with special guest stars from the professional musical community. McGowan and Menzie are on hand each evening at 7 p.m. to meet aspiring performers and begin sign up for the evening. Performances are limited to singing acts. All singers are expected to provide sheet music in their key. Menzie accompanies each act. A $15 minimum is required for a table at “Monday Night Live.” Reservations are strongly recommended , but not required, and can be made by calling Petterino’s at 312-422-0150 .
